Deep dark forests near the water. He is sitting in his wooden cave. Holes in the wall for a small view at the ocean. His thoughts navigates him through life. But which way? Expectations, irritations. A small, tiny bird, sitting in his ear-shell, whistles a melody. Dramatic but hopeful. „Is there a way out?“ he asks the bird. Percussive noise in the back of his head. „Shape sounds!!!“ says the bird, „Out of this noise.

Give it a try. Every day. Do you know the meaning of the holes in this wall? Try to look with your ears! There are waves outside. Listen! Transform! And you will see, there’s a way out of this cage!“

And so he put an ear at a hole. An unexpected, repetitive noise in his left, and a tiny, fluffy bird in his right ear. Aural expierience in stereo.

Then the bird spreads his wings for a take off: „This is where it all begins! Take care!“

If you want to listen and party to a true and lovely Berlin sound you may think of Marvin Hey. This young charming man has come a long way since he started to play and produce – as he nearly played in every notable club in Berlin and together with plenty of well known national and international artists he proverbially absorbed the different influences and therefore interpreted and created his own style.

His mixes and music can be described as very warm and playful at the same time; very harmonic and likewise danceable; very gentle and simultaneously deep. This variety is representative for the unique and world famous Berlin Music Style. The 'Secret Island Nation' DJ Contest is open to European residents only.
By entering this competition you acknowledge your availability the 2nd of August, to perform in the opening of the Secret Island Festival 2012.
Failure to use the correct tags, title, and artwork could see your mix disqualified!
Define and create your very own style.
Take your time and bear in mind: early entries will not be given priority.
No legal recourse. The judges' decisions are final.
There is no cash alternative and the prizes are non-transferable.

Competition Terms and Conditions

1. Competitions

(a) By entering one or all of the competitions you agree to be bound by these terms and conditions.

2. Conditions

(a) Details of how to enter, who the competition is open to and the deadline shall be found on the top of this page itself.

(b) All entrants must be over the age of 18, unless otherwise stated.

(d) Each entrant irrevocably grants to Secret Island Crew and its associated companies the exclusive, non-transferable, worldwide and free of charge and of royalty, rights to use, develop, adapt and market all or any of the User Submissions submitted by the entrant in the competition.

e) There shall be no purchase necessary for any of our competitions unless otherwise stated on the competition page.

f) The organization can require proof of the origin of the votes to prevent fraudulent votings without explanations. Irregular "likes" will determine the disqualification of the participants in question.

3. Prizes

(a) All winners shall be notified by email (unless otherwise stated) at our discretion following the deadline date. The adjudicator's decision is final.

(b) All prizes described for each competition will be those available as at the date of publication. However any prizes which are donated by third parties are subject to those third parties honouring their prize and shall be subject to the third party's terms and conditions.

(d) Winners may be required to participate in publicity with either Secret Island Crew or the third party prize donors or both.

4. Liability

Secret Island accepts no liability for:

(i) any loss of prizes including but not limited to any occurrence beyond our control; (ii) any lost, late, misdirected, illegible or inaudible entry; (iii) any third party prize donor not honouring their prize; or (iv) any technical, network, electronic, computer, hardware or software malfunctions of any kind, or inaccurate transmission of or failure to receive any entry or information by Mixcloud on account of including but not limited to technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet or any combination.

5. Miscellaneous

(a) We reserve the right to terminate or modify any or all of the competitions at any time and at our sole discretion.

(b) By entering any or all of the competitions you agree to be bound by these terms and conditions.
